Why I wrote the girl who kept breathing
For a long time, survival was the only thing I knew how to do.
I didn’t sit down one day and decide to write a book. Writing The Girl Who Kept Breathing came from a place much quieter than ambition—it came from truth. From years of carrying a story that shaped me, whether I spoke it or not.
This memoir is about a little girl who learned early how to endure. About growing up without safety, without a voice, and learning to breathe through moments that felt impossible to escape. It’s not written to shock or sensationalize, but to be honest. Because survival often isn’t loud—it’s quiet, steady, and exhausting.
I wrote this book for anyone who has lived in survival mode for so long they forgot what peace feels like. For anyone who has ever felt invisible, unworthy, or unheard. And for those who are still breathing their way through hard chapters, unsure if healing is even possible yet.
This story doesn’t pretend everything is magically fixed. It honors the truth that healing is a process—and sometimes, breathing through one more day is its own kind of courage.
If my story helps even one person feel less alone, then every word was worth it.
